MS 114 is a casebound volume measuring 332 x 215 mm. Wittgenstein has included dates between 25 May 1932 and 5 [June 1932] in the text. The binding consists of cream leather over board with 7 lines ruled horizontally across the spine and four lines roughly 1 cm from each edge of front and back boards. The origin of the volume is Heffers bookshop. Internally, the volume has 142 leaves with two flyleaves and marbled endpapers at front and rear. There are 35 lines per page. F. 21r. contains a cutting containing three remarks from a typescript (possibly TS208) pasted into the volume. f. 37v. contains another remark similarly pasted in.

The text is in German with one coded remark, written using pens with blue, blue-black and red inks and a typewriter. The volume is foliated by library staff 1-145, f. 1 being the second front flyleaf and ff. 144 and 145 being the two rear flyleaves. Starting at f. 31v. Wittgenstein paginated pp. 1-228.

The volume remained in Wittgenstein’s family until May 1970 when it was presented to Trinity College Library, by Wittgenstein’s niece, Clara Sjogren.
