MS 130 is a hardback notebook measuring 228 x 180 mm. Wittgenstein has included dates between 26 May and 9 August 1946 in the text. The binding consists of black plasticised material. Internally there are 146 leaves measuring 227 x 179 mm, ruled 24 lines per page with lined front and rear pastedowns. Pages 1 to 95 are paginated by Wittgenstein and the whole volume is foliated 1v to 148 by another hand. The text is in German with a few coded remarks, written with a pen in blue/black ink with some pencil used for emendations.

His volume was passed to Trinity College Library by Rush Rhees on 2 January 1970.
