MS 149 is a softback notebook measuring 279 x 225 mm. The binding consists of pink card covers with a dark pink fabric spine and was originally staple bound. There is a small label on the front cover affixed by the literary executors and ‘C5’ written in pencil in the top right-hand corner. The front cover is quite stained and there is much staining where a cup or glass has been placed on the rear cover. Internally, there are 48 leaves measuring 279 x 219 mm, each ruled with 29 lines. Some pages have been repaired using Japanese paper. The volumes has been foliated ff. 1-48 in a hand other than Wittgenstein’s. The text is in German and English and written in pencil.

This volume was passed by Rush Rhees to Trinity College Library on 25 Sep 1970.
