MS 111 is a casebound volume measuring 337 x 215 mm. The quarter-bound binding consists of bottle-green fabric and leather. The origin of the volume is indicated by a large round label on the inside front cover reading ‘Rupert Greisinger, St Paulen Rathaus 3. Founded 1866’. Internally there are 100 leaves measuring 330 x 205 mm with a green paper flyleaf at front and rear. Each page is ruled with 33 lines and the volume is paginated pp. 1-200, probably by Wittgenstein. The text is in German with a few coded remarks and written using pencil.

This volume remained in Wittgenstein’s family until May 1970 when it was presented to Trinity College Library, by Wittgenstein’s niece, Clara Sjogren.
