MS 118 is a casebound volume measuring 221 x 173 mm. Wittgenstein has included dates between 13 August and 24 September1937 in the text. The binding consists of blue cloth over boards with a brown leather spine. Internally there are 118 leaves, ruled with 23 lines. Both pastedowns are also lined for writing. The provenance of the volume, embossed in gold on the front cover, is W Heffer and Son, 19 Sidney Street, Cambridge. The text is in German with substantial coded remarks, written with a pen using blue/black, though some annotations are in pencil. It has been foliated ff. 1-119, including the rear pastedown. A label on the spine reads ‘Sheet 4 item 35’.
