MS 122 is a hardback exercise book measuring 221 x 172 mm. Wittgenstein has included dates between 16 October 1939 and 3 February 1940 in the text. The binding consists of navy blue paper over card with a brown leather spine. There is a paper label pasted in the top left of the front cover reading ‘Sheet 4, 39’. Internally there are 118 leaves measuring 221 x 172 each ruled with 23 lines. The volume is paginated by Wittgenstein pp. 1-162, 200-201, 208-211 and foliated ff. 1-119 by another hand. The text is in German with some coded remarks, written using blue/black ink.
