MS 125 is a pocket notebook measuring 160 x 103 mm. Wittgenstein has included dates between 28 December 1941 and 19 October 1942 in the text. The binding is dark green buckram with a leather spine. Internally it has 78 leaves, with a flyleaf at each end, the leaves are ruled with 19 lines per page and foliated ff 1-79 by library staff. There is a large label pasted to the front cover by the literary executors and a smaller one on the spine. The text is in German with a few coded remarks, written using blue/black ink and pencil.
