TS 213 consists of an eight-page list of chapter headings followed by 769 leaves of typescript measuring 289 x 225 mm. The list of chapter headings is foliated ff. I to VIII and the main text 0-5, 6a, 6b, 7-260, 262- 768. The text is in German and has been typed on the recto pages. Some of the pages, particularly in the second half of the typescript, have been moved from various carbons of TS 211.

Much of the earlier portion of the text has been annotated by Wittgenstein in indelible pencil and pens using black and red ink. Annotation is in many cases substantial and in many cases uses the verso of folios, many of which have been annotated as such by Rush Rhees in pencil and blue ink, presumably in preparation for microfilming. There are no annotations between folios 293 and 353 and no substantial ones after folio 432.

Folios VIII and 166 are somewhat stained and a number of page have rust stains from being held together by paperclips. F. 30 has had a small rectangle cut from the top right-hand corner. Ff. I-VIII were given by Rush Rhees to Trinity College Library in January 1970 when he also passed the remainder of the manuscript to the Library.
