MS 165 is a hardback pocket ledger measuring 158 x 98 mm. The binding consists of dark blue fabric on board with a blue fabric spine. There is a small label on the front cover affixed by the literary executors. On the front pastedown there is a booksellers stamp reading ‘Bookshop and Lending Library. Castleton, Mumbles’. Internally there are 114 leaves ruled with 20 lines with one vertical red line to the left of the page and one double and two single red lines to the right. The volume is paginated pp. 1-230 including both pastedowns. The text is in German, with one coded remark, written in pencil and pen using blue/black ink.

This volume was passed by Rush Rhees to Trinity College Library on 25 Sep 1970.
