MS 168 is a hardback notebook measuring 229 x 177 mm, marked ‘Notebook No. 4’. Wittgenstein has included dates between December 1947 and January 1949 in the text. The binding consists of red, pink and blue marbled paper over board with a red fabric spine. There is a small label on the front cover with the reference ‘Sheet 5, 58’. Internally, there are 76 leaves measuring 229 x 177 mm each ruled with 23 lines. The volume is foliated ff. 1-6 by Wittgenstein and 7-78 by another hand. Ff. 7-78 are blank. The text is in German and written in pen using blue ink.
