MS 153a is a hardback pocket notebook measuring 165 x 103 mm. The binding consists of black fabric over board quarter bound with red buckram. There is a small label placed on the front cover by the literary executors. Internally there are 168 leaves, ruled with 20 lines including the front and rear pastedowns. The volume is foliated ff. 1-169 including the rear pastedown by a hand other than Wittgenstein’s. There is some paper repair. The text is in German and written in pencil.

This volume was passed by Rush Rhees to Trinity College Library on 25 Sep 1970.
