MS 156b is a hardback pocket notebook measuring 156 x 103 mm. The binding consists of embossed fabric on card with a fabric spine with ‘Memo’; the front cover has a small label attached by the literary executors. Internally there are 57 of 60 original leaves, the last three having been torn out. Those that remain measure 157 x 99 mm and are ruled with 19 lines each page. The volume is foliated ff. 1-58 including the rear pastedown but not the removed leaves. There is some dog-earing. The text is in German and written in pencil and a pen using black ink. The pages that have been removed were used back-to-front and upside down.

This volume was passed by Rush Rhees to Trinity College Library on 25 Sep 1970.
