MS 153b is a softback pocket notebook measuring 156 x 104 mm. The binding consists of black card covers with a dark red spine. There is a small label placed on the front cover by the literary executors. Internally there are 60 leaves measuring 159 x 100 mm each ruled with 20 lines as are the front and rear pastedowns. The volume is foliated ff. 1-61 including the rear pastedown. though not by Wittgenstein. The text is in German and written in pencil, with a note in blue ink by Rush Rhees on the front pastedown.

This volume was passed by Rush Rhees to Trinity College Library on 25 Sep 1970.
